Insurance & Fees

We check your benefits before you arrive. You make a decision with clear and complete information.

Financial uncertainty is one of the main reasons patients put off treatment. Our approach is simple: you know what to expect before anything begins.

"The main thing I loved about my experience was that the office checked my benefits before my visit. I had bad experiences in the past where I felt trapped with an unexpected bill. Here they checked and notified me beforehand, and I made an informed decision before going there."

Plain Talk, Simple Truth

Our doctors care about you. Your insurance plan has its own rules — and no guarantee of payment. We're here to help you navigate that.

Insurance policies are written to limit what carriers pay — not to maximize your care. We know that. Our job is to do everything within the system to get you the most coverage you are entitled to, and to be honest with you about what that means for your out-of-pocket costs.

How It Works

No surprises. Every step is explained before we start.

We know that cost is a real concern. We'll contact your insurance carrier, confirm your coverage, and give you a realistic estimate before treatment.

  • 01
We check your benefits before your appointment Before you arrive, we contact your insurance carrier and verify your coverage. You will know what to expect financially before treatment begins — not after.
  • 02
We give you an estimate before we start Once your doctor has evaluated your tooth, you receive a written estimate for your treatment plan. We do not begin treatment until you have had a chance to review it and have had an opportunity to ask questions.
  • 03
Payment is due at the time of service We process estimated payments prior to treatment so you can enjoy a quick, seamless checkout and focus on resting after your procedure.
  • 04
If insurance pays differently than estimated, we'll promptly make the adjustments. If your carrier pays less than their initial estimate, we will send you a statement for the remaining balance. If they pay more than expected, you will receive a refund. As of late, carriers take approximately 90 days to process a claim — a departure from 2-4 weeks in the past!
Insurance Coverage

In-network with most major dental plans.

Being in-network means our fees may be covered at a higher percentage than if you went to an out-of-network provider. In practical terms, that usually means a lower patient co-pay for you.

We contact your insurance on your behalf, verify your benefits, and provide you with an accurate estimate of your co-pay before treatment begins. Your policy is between you and your carrier — but we do the legwork to help you understand what it covers.

Please note: an estimate is just that. Carriers occasionally pay differently from their initial estimate. If that happens, we will contact you with an updated copay or refund.

Whatever your plan does not cover is your responsibility. You will hear that from us before treatment begins — never after.

Common Questions

What patients ask about insurance.

Are you in-network with my insurance?

Endospecialists is an in-network provider with most major dental insurance plans. In-network means your fees are typically covered at a higher percentage than if you were treated by an out-of-network provider. Call us with your insurance details and we can confirm your specific coverage before your appointment.

What if my insurance doesn't cover everything?

Any charges not covered by your insurance plan are your responsibility, and we would rather you hear it from us now.

Two things most patients are never told: every benefit check ends with the carrier stating that the information is not a guarantee of payment, and some plans pay a percentage not of our fee but of their own "usual and customary" figure — one they set, and will not disclose to us or to you.

We cannot change that. What we can do is refuse to pass the uncertainty on to you: you will get as accurate an estimate as we can produce before treatment begins, and we will work hard to maximize what your plan does cover.

Do I need to bring my insurance card?

Yes — please bring your insurance card and any referral slip from your dentist to your first appointment.

How long does insurance take to pay?

Most carriers now take three to four months to process a claim — considerably longer than the four to six weeks that used to be standard. We will follow up with your insurance company on your behalf and notify you if there is a balance remaining after they have paid.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Cash, Zelle and all major credit cards.

Is endodontic treatment covered by insurance?

Root canal treatment is generally covered by dental insurance, though how much is covered varies widely. Carriers classify endodontic treatment differently — some as a basic procedure, some as a major one — and that classification drives the percentage they pay. More advanced procedures, such as retreatment or apicoectomy, may be treated differently again. We verify your specific benefits before treatment begins.
